The Facilities Supervisor - Electrical Speciality will report directly to the Facilities Operations Manager. This position has a strong focus on maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility plant and equipment on all systems. A very high percentage of “wrench time” is anticipated. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate technical expertise in the routine, emergency, preventive maintenance and operational assignments relating to operation and/or maintenance of high voltage utility distribution systems and generators. May perform some work to maintain campus lighting systems The individual in this role must be available for call-in work as well as shifts and perform other duties within their realm of responsibility as required.
The position will have responsibilities for teams of up to 5 colleagues and as such the incumbent will have to have experience in and capable of supervising teams at multiple buildings simultaneously. Additionally, the position will be required to oversee contractor performance and signoff on repairs/installations. Some overtime is to be expected.
The successful candidate must have the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required in accordance with all applicable standards. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment and work across disciplines and functional areas to achieve objectives.
Completes other duties as assigned.
The incumbent must have a knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes. He or she must be a team player, hard worker with good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of and ability to use materials, methods/principles and tools specific to the needs of high voltage electrical work and generator repairs. Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations or ordinances. Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawing, schematics and distribution circuit maps. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to troubleshoot problems and work as part of a team. Good verbal and written communication skills are required and must be familiar with computer equipment and programs.
Capable of operating building management systems and work order systems. Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on ladders and high elevations, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle. Able to work in tight spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc. Able to work on roofs of buildings.

Working conditions require exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Experiences long periods of standing and walking.
