The Facilities Supervisor - AC Speciality will report directly to the Facilities Operations Manager. This position has a strong focus on maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility plant and equipment on all systems. A very high percentage of “wrench time” is anticipated. The incumbent will be required to demonstrate technical expertise in HVAC maintenance & troubleshooting and must have experience in chilled water systems. The successful candidate must be multi-skilled in other areas such as pipe fitting, plumbing and electrical work in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments. The individual in this role must be available for call-in work as well as shifts and perform other duties within their realm of responsibility as required.
The position will have responsibilities for teams of up to 5 colleagues and as such the incumbent will have to have experience in and capable of supervising teams at multiple buildings simultaneously. Additionally, the position will be required to oversee contractor/s performances and signoff on repairs/installations. Some overtime is to be expected.
The successful candidate must have the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required in accordance with all applicable standards. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment and work across disciplines and functional areas to achieve objectives.
Completes other duties as assigned.
The incumbent must have a knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes. He or she must be a team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports. Good verbal and written communication skills are required and must be familiar with computer equipment and programs.
Capable of operating Building Management Systems and work order systems. Skilled and physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle. Able to work in tight spaces such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc. Able to work on roofs of buildings.

Working conditions require exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Experiences long periods of standing and walking.
