  • Opportunity at a Glance

      The primary purpose of the position is to be responsible for ensuring all veterinary technician duties are completed in the Community Practice and Clinical Science Surgery Laboratory.

    Responsibilities

     -  Ensure Clinical Science Surgery labs are set up  to meet student needs and according to faculty requirements.

    - Responsible for the care of surgical instruments

    - Assists doctors in special procedures (bronchoscopy and endoscopy)

    - Demostrate surgery skills to 6th and 7th semester students - Assist in 6th semester surgery exams

    - Order supplies for Clinical Science labs

    - Monitor cleanliness and condition of kennels

    - Train new clinicians and techs in use of equipment

    Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     - Vet Tech Certificate preferred

    - Vet Tech experience

    - Experience in the functions of hospital and surgery labs

    - Experience using specialized equipment

    - Ability to work independently

    - Excellent learning and communication skills
