    This project is to support local efforts and leverage initiatives for conservation and environmental sustainability on SKN starting with the Narrows Marine Managed Area.


    The project is a series of targeted training sessions for future conservation leaders detailing how to create the conditions for change to happen and how to motivate people to implement that change. Also, we will develop a conservation plan for reducing our impact on the Narrows by engaging the people, businesses and communities that are key for developing and implementing the plan.


    This is a temporary role to assist in the planning, coordination and execution of the training sessions, and provide support in establishing and maintaining collaborations with government, NGOs and local businesses.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manage and support the various project objectives and specific activities by performing general clerical duties, including meeting coordination, reserving and preparing meeting facilities, coordinating food vendors, and other duties pertinent to the scope of the project.
    • Work closely with project leads, remaining in constant communication with the different stakeholders that will be identified during the project. Forms of communication will include email, phone call, and preferably, in person contact.
    • Ensure constant and effective communication between project leads and trainees and assist in monitoring trainees’ progress.


    • At least three years’ experience in secretarial or closely related clerical support in environmental, conservation, or sustainability fields.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Project Management, Policy Management or a related field preferred.
    • Very strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that will specifically help to build and maintain effective collaborations. Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Knowledge and skill with basic computer and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and Apple applications.
    • Eagerness to learn, positive and enthusiastic attitude and passion for environmental conservation are required.
