The Research Professor position will have a primary focus on research and research-related activities (~80% of the role), with limited teaching (~10%) and service (~10%) roles. The successful candidate is expected to identify, develop and lead research program(s) that aligns with one or more key research areas (infectious diseases [bacteriology, virology, parasitology, epidemiology, pathology, immunology and/or antimicrobial/anthelmintic resistance], tropical veterinary medicine, and/or food safety and security) of the RUSVM One Health Center for Zoonoses and Tropical Veterinary Medicine. Interdisciplinary and collaborative research is encouraged. The candidate is expected to attract extramural funding, initiate collaboration(s) with universities/research institutes of esteem, publish his/her research outcomes in high impact peer-reviewed scientific journals, and supervise Postdoctoral Research Fellows and PhD/MSc students. S/he is also expected to mentor young faculty members in advancing their research careers, especially with planning research, writing grants and/or publishing research papers.
