Opportunity at a Glance

Adtalem Global Education is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as Registrar Advisor.  The Registrar Advisor is responsible for providing support to students regarding University policies and procedures related to enrollment, registration and records, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. The Registrar Advisor is also responsible for processing a high volume of student information through the Banner student information system and Salesforce CRM. All of these responsibilities require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and a moderate level of independent judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Performs veterinary degree audits, which involves reviewing students’ academic records to ensure that all degree requirements have been met.
  • Communicates with students regarding the status of their graduation application and degree audit as well as assisting them on any outstanding requirements or registrar related matters. Tracks degree audit statuses using the Salesforce CRM, updates students’ records in Banner, and prints and mails diplomas to students when degree is conferred.
  • Reviews veterinary clinical site evaluations/transcripts and enters course and grade information into the Banner student information system. Resolves discrepancies, as needed, with the clinical affiliate and/or Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences and Professional Opportunities.
  • Advises students regarding university policies and procedures regarding enrollment, registration and records and.
  • Processes leave of absences, dismissals and withdrawals in Banner. These processes involve interpreting and applying university policies and communicating decisions to students.
  • Updates student statuses in Banner per weekly and periodic reports and sends proactive notifications to students regarding status changes. Reviews weekly attrition reports to ensure information matches the student form to the Banner system.
  • Assists with review of clearinghouse enrollment reporting process to ensure process is working accurately.
  • Analyzes data from Banner and other sources and reports current and historical enrollment information on a student-by-student basis, which requires a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Provides excellent customer service when answering phone calls as well as responding to, and resolving Salesforce inquiries.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned by the University Registrar and/Sr. Director of Student Services
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Higher education experience, preferably in an enrollment or records setting (Registrar or Admissions). 
  • Familiarity with Registrar best practices related to degree auditing and other records and registration policies and procedures a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy are a must. 
  • Ability to make decisions independently and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a quick learner in a fast-paced office environment. 
  • Strong customer service skills required. 
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Office and database applications.  Knowledge of student information systems, preferably Banner, a plus
