RUSVM is seeking an accomplished, self-driven leader with outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to act as our Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs and Affilitations. This individual will share a commitment to providing high-quality veterinary education, and a belief in the mission and values of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.
The Associate Dean will be an active member of the senior leadership team of the school, and will spend at least 70% of their time at the RUSVM campus. The Associate Dean's core objective is to oversee and develop clinical programs and training at RUSVM. The postholder will liase with senior colleagues at the affiliate schools regarding student placements, will introduce and implement the optimal system for student matching on placement, and will work with the RUSVM Associate Dean for Academic Affairs on student progression issues. S/he will lead contract negotiations with affiliates, and source and develop new partnerships where appropriate to ensure the best clinical experience for the students. The postholder will also be responsible for meeting all reporting requirements necessary for compliance and accreditation.
S/he will have excellent academic credentials; a DVM, Board Certification, and/or Ph.D.; academic administration experience; and advanced understanding of veterinary education curriculum and training. S/he will have the proven ability to interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, students, and alumni. The Associate Dean will have a proven record of assessing needs, developing, and following through on a multi-faceted plan in an academic setting.
The Associate Dean will be a member of academic faculty and required to have the credentials commensurate with appointment as a Full Professor (preferred) or Associate Professor. ONLY indviduals that possess these credentials will be considered or contacted. The Associate Dean will be expected to have an international reputation in their specialist field and to participate in the teaching program in his/her area of expertise. Scholarly outputs will also be expected from the postholder – and may include educational research as part of Center 4.
