    The maintenance technician is responsible for general facilities maintenance, construction, masonry, carpentry, and other handyman, or general services duties including but not limited to the following:


    • General maintenance, construction, and handyman tasks or projects
    • Plans work, prepares materials and work area prior to beginning work
    • Demolish, alters, repairs, and maintains buildings, walls, ceilings, roofs, sidewalks, street curbs, floors, offices, doors, windows, bathroom showers, sink counters, partitions, manholes, and other related structures or surfaces as required.
    • Performs carpentry, masonry, or general maintenance work following drawings/instructions or as directed by the supervisor.
    • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, to include heavy lifting.
    • Determines work requirements and sequence of assignments through review of work orders as directed by supervisor.
    • Leads projects or assignments as assigned by the supervisor
    • Lays out work using applicable tools and equipment to perform with precision, accuracy, and efficiency.
    • Proven successful use of hand tools and the use of power tools, demolition hammers, powered abrasive saws, paving breakers, drills, and/or other construction and maintenance tools.
    • General services to include road work, underground utilities, setting up for special events, office relocations or other general services as required by the department


    Other duties as assigned


    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Knowledge of related trade tools, techniques, equipment and materials.
    • Skills in general maintenance, construction, alteration, repairs and renovations
    • 3-5 years of experience in related field.
