RUSVM’s Office of Student Experience provides programs and support that assist veterinary students achieve their goal of completing the veterinary program and becoming practice ready graduates.
As part of the Student Experience Team, the Director, Health Service’s primary responsibility is to provide overall leadership and the delivery of excellent medical care services and referrals for a culturally diverse campus community comprised of students and colleagues at RUSVM.
The successful candidate must qualify for licensure by the Medical Board of the Federation of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) & Nevis. Successful completion of licensure is a condition of employment.
Other responsibilities include being the liaison with local physicians, the hospital and other health related institutions and personnel; managing an effective on-call system; health promotion and outreach through wellness presentations and programs; enhancing the health services electronic pages and publications; long-term planning and program development, provision and evaluation of services; budget management; supervision of staff; and other management functions.
Additional responsibilities may include; participation in on-site research activities and collaboration with faculty; medical management of the University Environmental Health and Safety Program; participation in University disaster preparedness and response activities; and engagement with appropriate governmental agencies as necessary or requested.
This position will supervise two staff members (RNs). This position also carries a case load of students and other RUSVM community members who visit the Health Services Center.
The Director, Health Services is an essential member of Student Experience Leadership Team and will work closely with colleagues across the university in the delivery of an exceptional student experience.
